This is the first post from New Buckwheat Pillows!
We so many comments from people about sleep we thought we might post some of them here...
Anyway this is the reason we started our service...
It can be really difficult sleeping (if only!) next to someone who snores; in my own experience her snoring has however had a positive effect.
I now know how the house sounds at 2 o'clock in the morning, that if I miss the 2nd 4th and 7th steps, I wont wake you… as if a slight 'creak' on a stair could wake someone sleeping through a noise so loud it could guide ships into port!
I have tried potions and snoring masks and even ball bearings taped strategically around my back but nothing stops the snoring!
Mind you, I do think these things would have a greater effect if my ‘snoring’ partner wore them rather than me?
What causes snoring?
There are several causes of snoring, the most common being when the soft tissue at the top of the throat vibrates when someone breathes in. The quick intake of breath against the flabby skin in the throat, causes the vibration we call a ‘snore’. Turning over (hence the ball bearings by the way…) changes the way the skin lies, usually stopping the snore, but this disrupts your sleep and you wake up feeling as if you have been awake all night.
Now there is a solution to your sleepless nights...
Your buckwheat pillow supports the neck and head and helps open the airways, easing air pressure and reducing the vibration which causes snoring. Also because the head and neck are cradled by the pillow, sleep can be deeper with less turning which can also effect on snoring.
Well that's all for now... sweet dreams!
